What “accepts Medicare assignment” means for cost
A supplier that accepts assignment agrees to take the Medicare-approved amount as full payment. With Original Medicare, after the Part B deductible you pay 20% of the Medicare-approved amount. A supplier that doesn't accept assignment may charge you more, and for rented equipment you could end up paying the full cost up front.
Ask before you order, including whether they'll accept assignment for every rental month. On a Medicare Advantage plan, ask the plan which suppliers are in its network. Medicare.gov: equipment coverage ↗
